Announcing Unified Web Performance: automatic lab testing, real user monitoring, and Google SEO scores.

Claude Skill

Ask Claude about your website's performance, and it pulls the numbers from Request Metrics for you.

The Request Metrics skill teaches Claude to read your website’s performance from Request Metrics. Ask a question in plain language. Claude requests the data, pages through long lists of URLs, and rates your Core Web Vitals against Google’s thresholds.

Download request-metrics-api.zip

What you can ask

You ask Claude does
“How did my website do on Core Web Vitals this week in Request Metrics?” Pulls the last 7 days and rates LCP, INP, and CLS
“Which pages are slowest on mobile this month?” Pulls performance by URL for 30 days on mobile and sorts by LCP
“Compare mobile and desktop load time for the last 24 hours.” Pulls both and lines them up
“Export every URL’s performance for the last 30 days.” Pages through every URL and builds a file

The skill only reads data. It can’t change anything in your account.

What you need

Claude needs your account ID, the ID of the website, and your API key. Account administrators find all three on the Account Settings page. Claude asks for them the first time you use the skill.

Warning: Your API key lets anyone read the performance data for every website in your account. Only give it to Claude in conversations you control, and don’t share a conversation that contains it.

Install in the Claude apps

Skills work in Claude on the web and desktop, on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. They need code execution turned on in your Claude settings.

  1. Download request-metrics-api.zip.
  2. In Claude, open Customize and then Skills.
  3. Click +, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill, and select the zip file.
  4. Check that the skill is turned on.

TIP: Safari unzips downloads by default. If you end up with a request-metrics-api folder instead of a zip file, compress the folder back into a zip before you upload it.

Claude also needs network access to reach app.requestmetrics.com. Turn on network access for code execution in your settings. On Team and Enterprise plans, your organization owner controls network access and may need to allow app.requestmetrics.com.

Menu names change from time to time. Anthropic keeps the current steps in its guides to using skills in Claude and code execution settings.

Install in Claude Code

Unzip the skill into your personal skills folder.

mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
unzip request-metrics-api.zip -d ~/.claude/skills

That creates ~/.claude/skills/request-metrics-api/SKILL.md. Claude Code picks up new skills without a restart. If it doesn’t see the skill, run /reload-skills. To share the skill with everyone working in one repository, unzip it into that repository’s .claude/skills folder instead.

Try it

Ask Claude “What are my Core Web Vitals in Request Metrics for the last 7 days?” The first time, Claude asks for your IDs and API key.
