Terms and Definitions
-
Page View: A single user visit to a page in your website. This could also be known as “hits” or “traffic”, measured monthly.
-
Website: A logical collection of pages that you wish to monitor together. They do not need to be on the same domain, only that they share a common Website Token.
How Pricing Works
At Request Metrics, we believe in predictable pricing and reliable access to your data. You will always know exactly what your monthly bill will be, and we will never hold your data hostage to upgrade your subscription. That would suck.
We price our service based the total volume of traffic (page views) that you want to monitor in a month. Plans includes a base capacity of traffic, which can be allocated in blocks to your websites:
Plan | Base traffic capacity | Traffic block size |
---|---|---|
Free | 1,000 | 1,000 |
Essentials | 75,000 | 25,000 |
Professional | 500,000 | 50,000 |
You can allocate your plan’s traffic capacity in increments of the block size. For example, with the Essentials plan could have 3 websites with 25,000 page views each or 1 website with 75,000 page views.
Purchasing additional traffic capacity
When you need to monitor more of your traffic, you can purchase additional blocks of traffic according to your plan. Additional traffic can be allocated to your existing websites, or used to add more websites to your account.
For example, if you are on the Professional plan, and you want to monitor 50 websites with less than 50,000 page views, you would purchase 2,500,000 total traffic capacity.
Exceeding plan limits
When one of your websites goes viral, you might get more traffic than you’ve purchased in your plan. That’s totally okay! You won’t get a surprise bill from us.
The traffic for each website is limited per minute according to your plan. A big spike in traffic won’t exhaust your capacity, or skew your data. You get a even view of your data throughout the month. Learn more about traffic limits.
Billing Periods
Request Metrics can be billed either monthly or annually. Your billing period starts on the day you subscribe to a plan, and repeats on the same day every month thereafter. The plan limits and capacity apply within this billing period.
Changing plans during your period
When you need to add additional traffic during your billing period, you will be charged a pro-rated amount for days remaining in the current billing period. On the start of your next billing period, the full updated amount will be charged.
If you downgrade your plan during the billing period, the excess funds will be applied as a credit to your account and used against your next bill.
Canceling your subscription
If you need to cancel your subscription, your account will be closed immediately and we will purge your data. Any funds paid will be left as a credit on your account when you choose to resubscribe. We cannot refund payments made.
Trial Accounts
When you start a Request Metrics account, you’ll begin your one-time, 14-day free trial to explore the product and see your own data in the tool. Anyone in your organization can initiate a trial from our website.
During your trial, you’ll have access to the Professional level of features and limits. You are free to use the trial in your production environment and send all the data you need.
